The Household of God Ephesians 2:19
Christianity is Spiritual Reading: John 3:31-33 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. 3:32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. 3:33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. Introduction It must be known that there are activities in the physical and there are activities in the spiritual. There is a situation with, Christians that reveals a certain difficulty; How can a man distinguish life in the physical and life in the spiritual. These are not independent lives but are both lived by an individual. 1. Becoming by receiving John 1:12 A man cannot be a Soldier by himself he is given something to become a Soldier, A man cannot be a President he is given something to become a President. A man cannot be a Christian he is given something to become John 3:16, John 1:12 2. An imposter A man who works but has not been given the qualification is an imposter! John 10:8 Get the required qualification before you live the life! The imposter looks like the real thing but he is not. He is neither qualified nor has he the required abilities. A qualified Christian is a good person. Jesus Acts 10:38 3. Christian before Goodness Many have failed in Christianity because they their route is to be Good to be Christians. No, you become a Christian to be Good. If you are not a Christian your Good works is equalled to filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 Christianity is Super Natural and the qualification is from above! Romans 5:17-18 4. Natural Limitations The Natural is limited without the Gift. John 15:5 Talking: We are all used to talking face to face. When the hearer is a little far we shout. But eventually we are limited by how far we can communicate due to physical challenges. 5. Human effort John 5:39 To overcome this we have used advances in physical methods and scientific ways to increase and amplify our abilities. But in all this we remain stuck in this physical realm. There is a clear limit to how far and how well we can communicate using all the resources at our disposal. 6. Ponder these Questions What happens when you want to speak to your God? Isaiah 59:1-2 What happens when you want to know someone's thoughts? Matthew 9:4-5 What happens when you want to know what happens next in your own life? Because something will happen! Jeremiah 29:11 Why are some people doing little for large rewards and some work so hard but have little to show for it? Zechariah 4:6 What can I do about this dream that is so consistent in my life? These are questions one would want to have answers for, but our physical circumstances cannot help us, in fact in some situations our physical circumstances actually blocks us. Even with all the technology we have limits we don't get all the answers. Without help or something else we are stuck! Thank God for Jesus Christ. John 5:39, John 15:5 7. Goodness and the Supernatural power in Christianity. Goodness is definitely a fruit of the Christian life but it should also be known that Christianity is more than just being Good. Without something more than just goodness Christianity is weak. In Acts 1:8 we receive Power! So that we can Spiritually be in control! How does one get this control in his spirit? In our natural state man is incapable 1 Corinthians 2:14. But if receive power we are able 7.1 Your part Philippians 2:12 Consciously allow God space in your life! Isaiah 1:18. Until a man is accepts, submit and work with the spirit of God the future is grim. John 15:7 8. Salvation is Supernatural First one must understand that no one can achieve salvation for themselves. We don't know how it is done, what should be used, when it should be done in fact we know nothing about how it is should be done. You have to Trust in the Lord In the life that we have lived, we have continually had to relinquish our rights to achieve anything. We have put our money in the Bank not knowing whether the Bank will be there tomorrow! Even here some Banks have failed. If you put your trust in Jesus that will be wise. That will never fail! Hard work cannot achieve Salvation The Hard work men do cannot secure salvation, The requirements for salvation cannot be provided by men. By God's Grace to man He has provided a means for salvation for man. John 3:17 It is critical for any one seeking Salvation to take God's offer. Salvation cannot be found anywhere, no where in this creation except in the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 Conclusion We have discussed some important points today. o Christianity is more than Goodness o Christianity must have power o Christianity is given from Above. May the Lord grant us this Grace and the Grace to Accept His Grace in Jesus' Name. Amen.
