Spiritually is Truth and Sincerity

Reading: John 4:24 They that worship God must worship Him is Spirit and in truth.

1. Introduction

There can be no spirituality without truth.
Truth is as it really is. The reality of anything is given only from the owner.
The scriptures is given because in our natural state we will fail. 2 Corinthians 2:14
Our understanding at best is on human terms. What other people understand. John 9:40, 6:42
There is a specific understanding required for any child of God. You must be born again
Change your source of dependency.


The Trap
When anyone sets a trap. His next move is to entice coax and deceive the victim into it. Matthew 13:22 Proverbs 7:21-23.
Many of the things on this Earth are distractions. 1 John 2:15-17.
Reading James 4:1-5, Our desires are a source of misguidance. James 1:15 leading to the trap of the enemy - death.
Convince yourself that you need guidance or you cannot be sure of your destination, whoever you are.


There can be no spirituality without sincerity
Even when you know you are wrong. 1 Timothy 1:13-15. You could be spiritual. Spiritually could mean that your are not truthful and yet you are sincere about it. (before God and not caring about the rest of the world. Lord help my unbelief. Mark 9:24). It is wise to advice yourself before your God. One can easily get help and mercy as Paul did. 1 Timothy 1:13-15

Spiritually sheds away all pretences
A man cannot be more serious than his being spiritual. The most serious you can be is to be spiritual. Hebrews 4:13. It is the time you present yourself as far as you can present. Paul did it 1 Corinthians 13:12, 1 Corinthians 4:3-4
Pretence is only used in the presence of men. John 7:19,30. Pretence is deceit - of yourself - God is not mocked!
 

Passive deceit
Pretence however, may not be active deceit. It may be the result of fear, shame, greed, Fame and other carnal need.
Spirituality is properly accessing God with the proper acknowledgement and reverence for Him.
Be spiritual when you are dealing with men and be Spiritual when dealing with your creator.

Active spirituality
Men can and should desist from this kind of deceit -pretence - which is within their power and sacrifice to do.
The easy part is overcoming the voice of the flesh. The flesh is in the way by shame, fear, procrastination, lack of zeal etc. These are the voices that can be stopped. Allow Gods voice in. Galatians 2:20, 5:16, 19-20, 24, It will overcome the flesh. Galatians 5:16
The flesh is the natural voice of a man like it or not Gods voice overcomes the flesh.

Pretence
The devil thrives on pretences and ignoring moral responsibility. It gives him the opportunity to put a veil between what is really happening and what is been shown and can cause havoc in it. Acts 5 Ananias and Saphira.
Remove the curtain between you and God!
Some of us are more sincere and open to our Lawyers than we are to God in prayer. Which is strange because one person who can keep your secrets for sure is God.


Spirituality is Commitment
God requires full commitment and even Men resent anything but a full commitment in Spiritual matters.
Many have shipwrecked their spiritual life and reduced it's importance by according it less commitment. They cannot live spiritually again.
Improving spirituality
Improve your spirituality by continually cleaning it the unimportant things, that beset you Hebrews 12:1
A life with less commitment cannot be spiritual. Less commitment means something else has your attention. But the Bible says thou shalt love the Lord the God with all. Deuteronomy 6:5

Spirituality in Man
After sitting in his room evaluating what he can really afford ( being spiritual) he comes out and says. This is all I have (being un spiritual) The ten virgins did no such thing. Matthew 25 They said we have  - but it is for a purpose.

A Group and the Church
In any human group your are committed to being sincere and truthful to the human institution
In the church commitment, you are committed to being truthful and sincere to God. That is the difference.
In the former (human group) what you present and what is in your heart can be different but in the Church what you endeavour to present should be what is in your heart.

Father help me to walk spiritually. Amen
