Christianity includes Resurrection power

Reading: John 10:10 
10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Introduction
There are three areas of this life if that are under attack
Steal, Kill, and Destroy
The abundant Life that Jesus gives covers all these three areas.

Idle Words
But in Luke 24:11 the disciples call "the resurrection" idle Words. 
Idle because after all the 3 ½ years with Jesus, Resurrection way was still unregistered with them.

Ascend into this area
One hard area of faith that every Christian must break is to believe the "Life of God - the Supernatural Life"  - is a critical part of Christianity.
The other areas (stealing and destroying) to seem to be under control but it is only because we see it in the wrong context.

Steal: if anyone steals anything
From you it is possible to buy another or to take it back from Him. 
Because of this John 10:10 stealing is not too strange to us. But that is wrong!
The only reason we relate in that manner is because for many there whole situation is about physical things.
But Christianity is about Eternal things. It is about Spiritual things.
You Joy can be stolen, your peace can be stolen, your hope can be stolen. As in the times we are in but None of these are physical things and they can't be bought or taken back except in the super natural. Excerpt by Jesus! That is why He said I have come.
Supernatural Provision
When men raise up our hands to God we say that we are aware of things that only He can provide.
Jesus gives back Joy John16:24, Jesus gives peace John 14:27, and he is out Hope John 14:1-5 So remember Jesus gives the better part

Destroying:
Here too we may replace a destroyed item by buying another or repairing it. This is all fine if it is a car, our television or a dress but again that is not the context.
Lives can be destroyed, children can be destroyed and faith can be destroyed Galatians 1:23 
Again None of these can be replaced or repaired except in Jesus. That is why He said I have come! There are numerous examples where Jesus restored the lives and livelihood of men. Blind Bartimaeus, the Man at the pool of Bethesda etc.

Kill
In this matter many don't even isolate it in consideration and we have reduced Christianity to the simple life. 
Killing is to take life out of a thing.
Jesus demonstrated in many ways that Life taken away can be given back in His abundant Life!
He gave life back to a little girl Luke 8:50-56
He gave life back to a young man Luke 7:12-15
Jesus gave life back to Lazarus in John 11

Jesus in giving abundant Life showed he came for giving life also but it is overlooked by many. 
So in the Third Day He Rose from the Dead!!

There is a Higher and Better life in Christ Jesus.
 
Today is significant for all Christians because Jesus gave the final proof that not only does he give life, 
He is life itself John 11:25 and cannot be killed. He is Risen and so shall you rise.

Keep this in your heart. Christianity is not just living a good life - it is overcoming this life with Jesus.
