 Faith Relationship

Reading: Hebrews 11:5-6

1. Introduction

There Cannot be any other relationship with the Lord except - a Faith relationship.
He that cometh to God must believe that He is
Why is it so? Hebrews 11:1. 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

They carry the substance because their Hope is completed now.(Rather than in the future)
Those who have faith - Do not see! They have evidence but it is not seen.
At this time the whole world is exercising Faith for a vaccine.

2. Faith in Man
The problem with this Kind of faith is that it is expected from among mankind and It is so wrong and futile. Even if mankind could stem the tide. It will be on borrowed time. Because there real question as to how this could happen is not answered and cannot be answered by man and we seem not to know where it came from.


3. All knowing God
However we are assured by the Bible Hebrews 4:12 that God knows everything. Fortunately He has connected to us. That therefore is the answer right there! Jeremiah 33:3

4. Hope
These people have a certain Kind of hope. Again the Hope is not the general "May be" type. This Hope is so trusting that it defines the substance of anything in their possession.
I recently converted a brand new handkerchief into a face mask. How did that come about.
I trusted (had Faith) that it would be a good protector and its value as a handkerchief was evaporated! Remember Moses at the Red Sea.
Your Faith in the Lord can definitely make things happen in your life. Mark 5:34, Matthew 9:29. There is a strong relationship between what you expect from God and what you get.

5. God is Sovereign
One quality of God is that he doesn't need anything to do what he has to do.
What would you do if this person who needs nothing from you and has all that you can ever need
would yet want to form a relationship with you?
The reason for that relationship can only be because God wants you to properly enjoy 1 Timothy 6:17 what he has prepared for us.
If you hear him you're blessed, If you believe him you are blessed. Any proper relationship with the Lord will bless a man
 

6. Your Will
However because a man has His will you are at liberty to reject Him.
God will not prevent you from walking contrary to Him but it won't serve you well
In fact Good doesn't want you to serve Him because you are afraid of Hell. That would be serving Him for the wrong reasons.
The Bible clearly says Hell was not created with man in mind. Matthew 25:41
To preach that a man should turn to Christ only because of hell is wrong.
The reason for turning to Christ is to enable Righteousness in a man.
The popular Ga Proverb can illustrate the point.
Flies do not belong to the grave but they are always buried along with bodies. You don't belong to Hell.

7. We are God's Children
You belong to God. Trust completely in him. 1 Peter 5:6-7.


 

Part II The Lord's Supper
I Corinthians 11:23-26
Let us consider these things that the Lord Jesus said at the Lord's supper
1. This is my body eat... In remembrance of me
2. Drink in remembrance of me
3. Reason: We show the Lord's Death till he comes.
This supper is a declaration that says "Jesus died to pay the price of my sin"

Two Things a child of God should do
1 Corinthians 11:27-28
A. Don't drink it unworthily
B. Examine Yourself

Pray for the Lord to count you worthy of His body and His Blood.

Examine Yourself.
Confess any faults and ask for forgiveness and strength.

Pray over the sacraments and take it. The Head of family should lead.

Pray and thank you Lord for a source of strength.
Use your Authority and honour God in your life. Amen
