The Household of God Ephesians 2:19
The "How" do you do it. We have talked about ministry We have talked about passion These things show us that when one does anything for the Lord. The doing is one part and the Passion is another. And even the manner of doing it As the Lord leads I would like to look at some of our fathers in the Lord. Moses: Numbers 20:10 In the book of Numbers not to be confused with a similar incident in Exodus Moses was asked by the Lord to speak to the rock to get water but Moses struck the rock twice with his rod. We can deduce from the context that he was irritated. In Exodus he had actually been asked to strike the rock which he did. God was unhappy and for that reason Moses was not allowed into the promised Land Lessons. We must daily seek instruction and guidance from the Lord. Repeating Past experience is not obedience. What you know today may not necessarily be useful tomorrow Never let circumstances provoke you as you go to God's presence. You must be completely still and submitted in your Spirit. Paul Acts 8:1-3 Another reason why we need a continuous connection to the Lord is that even the Passion we have has to be the right Kind. Acts 26:9-11 Paul was passionate but he was still completely wrong! He had been taught by great men Acts 22:3 but that was not enough. Thank God for great teachers but the only teacher of life is the Lord. Acts 9:6,15 Paul had a great ministry only when Jesus made him so. When Jesus met Paul on the way to Damascus everything about Paul changed. Lessons It is possible for a man to change! That process is not from man or by man but by the Lord. Every minister of God needs this change and this impartation. Just know that Paul a lawyer was very convinced of what he was doing before he met Jesus. If we do not want to miss the Mark we need Jesus. John 14:6 3. Me and you. In Giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8. 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. Lessons Surrender everything to Jesus. He knows what to do with it. The disciple said the is a boy with five loaves and two fishes but what is this among so many? Wrong Question?! Don't think or ask wrong questions in His presence. What ever offering you have, a blessed heart makes it a worthy offering to the Lord! Mark 12:43 Don't be hard; cultivate reverence before the Lord. 4. Peter Sustaining your life in the Lord. Peter said I am going to fish. John 21:3 This is the man to whom the Lord himself prophesied! Matthew 16:18 Bring your self under the Lord. 1 Corinthians 9:27 Lessons His focus changed. Hebrews 12:1-2 It is easy to be carried away by the needs of this life. Always remember this life is secondary. He also swayed many people with him. You may destroy other precious souls Until he saw the Lord again; - We need a continuous relationship with the Lord. Conclusion Our ability to stay our life in the Lord is with the Lord Himself. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 Amen
