John 5:29-21 The Father has life

1. Introduction
The purpose of this sermon is to bring home to us the revelation of living the real life.
To live is to exercise that quality of responding to your environment. When there is no response to your environment living ceases.
When one does not respond to His Heavenly Father, that person is living as a person but is dead before Him. Luke 15:32, 1 Timothy 5:6.

2. Christianity
The whole purpose of Christianity is to revive and restore a dying people, a people who are gradually becoming unresponsive to God the Father! Matthew 13:15 and therefore are unable to live in God's presence.

Note: Living never stops, but dying stops.

3. God and Living
Because of this it is very wrong to end anything before God. To Worship God is not to "arrive" but to live, which is not to arrive but to "increase in God". 2 Corinthians 4:16, Proverbs the path of the righteous shines brighter. Proverbs 4:18.


4. Human worship Colossians 2:18-23
Laws are made but when it is obeyed that ends it without any benefit at all to your spirit!.
It makes you puffed because of the ability to do them but your spirit must be in agreement. Obedience without acceptance (concurrence) is not of value.

5. Taking advantage of God's Grace in Christ Jesus 2 Peter 1:1-2
1. It is only God that has the ability of removing the stain of sin and
2. Only His method of removing sin works.
He removes Sin and the effects of sin with Jesus Christ Colossians 2:13.
Note: Because this Sin goes beyond our physical, God gives us freedom from it by giving us access to life by faith (which is spiritual) by our spirit. 2Peter 1:1-2 ... to take part in Divine Nature 2 Peter 1:4.

6. Godly Worship
Our (living) Response 2 Peter 1:5-9
Nourish your ("tree of faith") with these (though these require another sermon they should be noted)
Goodness, Knowledge, Self Control,
Perseverance (v12), Godliness, Brotherly Love, Love

 BUT
There are leaders who still depend on the wrong source of strength - flesh. 2 Peter 2:2
2 Peter 2:4-10 warns that nothing in this creation can escape punishment, angels, ancient world, Sodom and Gomorrah and dependants on fleshly desires. At the same time He rewards the righteous.

7. Watch and avoid these Characteristics 2Peter 2:14-22
Those who take advantage of others especially their weaknesses.14
Take wages of wickedness 16
Lustful enticement 18
They are slaves of the evil they preach. 19

8. Live by Jesus only Colossians 2:13
Don't adulterate the pure way with your physical goodness.
Get assistance from the Holy Spirit by prayer to have a living faith Response to God
Nourish your life with goodness, Godliness etc. 2Peter 1:5-9
Cherish the Lord in your heart always.
Refuse to be led away by the flesh, sin and the world.

Father's keep me in your hands in Jesus' Name.
