The Household of God Ephesians 2:19
When we
walk with the Lord in Commands, ordinances and sacrifice Sunday, August 12, 2018
Reading: Exodus 10:5-6
1. Introduction
There is great reward in walking with the Lord.
Any association with God creates a reward for the one who comes to God. Genesis
15:1
• When God gives you a command therefore it is for your reward. The purpose of
the commands of God is to bless you.
A Command is designed to restrict you to a particular line of action so the
natural man in a state of disobedience has a disposition to reject it. 1
Corinthians 2:14. However it is created to ensure the blessing of the receiver.
Joshua 1:8.
2. The commands of God are required for our bodies
To help us function properly on this Earth. Proverbs 3:5-8
Matthew 4:4, Genesis 4:4.
Our conscience given by God helps us to do what God requires. Romans 2:15
Any contrary actions bother on a lying to oneself and dishonoring yourself. The
consequences are expected.
Note: It must be understood that giving oneself to a contrary direction will
create negative results.
Any rejection of any aspect of the commands of God is counterproductive
3. Ordinances
These are related to order, sequence and timing. Ecclesiastes 3:3 there is a
time for everything.
Matthew 3:15 Jesus requested that John the Baptist baptizes him before. He
called that Righteousness. We are encouraged to be orderly and timely when we do
things with God.
In receiving things from God, one should not focus only on the general provision
from God, Sunshine, rain etc.
You are a Christian and are entitled to your father's blessings, increase,
multiplication and uncommon blessings. Malachi 3, Romans 12:2. Joshua 1:8
You must therefore not act and think as a common man.
Exodus 25:40, In service to God we ought to know that order and sequence are
important. It is righteousness or Godly to do things in order. 1 Corinthians
14:40
4. Sacrifices Hebrews 12:1-2
Christians are living sacrifices unto our God
A dead sacrifice can be provided by definition after the sacrifice it's of no
use.
Living sacrifices become useful after sacrifice - like Jesus.
Don't be detached in your service to God. Be a living sacrifice.
Don't just pay tithes be interested in the welfare of the church?
In any contract there is a collateral your collateral is your sacrifice Vis a
vis God's sacrifice- His son Jesus Christ.
God has infinitely proved his part of the contract. What is your commitment?
Prayer: Father I need to belong and not just appropriate. Hel me to belong
