The Household of God Ephesians 2:19
From Servanthood to Sonship Sunday, June 10, 2018
1. Introduction
Mistakes are not the issue, who you know yourself to be is what is important. On
January 18 2013 nearly committed suicide I was deluded of this life but I am
grateful to Jesus literally appeared to me and changed my life. I was born
again.
2. God's ways 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
The Message of God is foolishness to those who are lost. The lost depend on
their own wisdom.
Satan is the disputer and the accuser of the brethren
Wisdom of men does not get to God. But they that believe. I am saved because I
surrender.
V 22 we preach Christ crucified
3. Jesus is the Key
Christ the power and the wisdom of God.
Note what the world consider Foolish those who are called. The Weak are called.
When Jesus is in you, you are what God wants. What matters is Jesus in a man's
life
4, Christianity is a lifestyle.
It is a relation with God. It is being Part of the body of Christ. That is how
we put the world to shame. E.g Doctors have been put to shame when they say one
thing and God says another. My mother was told she had cancer and has little
time to live in 2013. My question to God was. Lord you did not bring me into
ministry so that my mother will die? My faith - a small boys Faith - prevailed
the doctors my mother is still alive.
God uses the despised things of the world to put the world to shame. Gideon was
ordered by God to use only 300 soldiers for battle.
Faith is foolishness to the world. Faith is hoped for but not seen.
5. A Servant or a Son?
Who desires to be a servant of God? 1 John 3:1-5.
God our Father calls us children. My Child gives me a better understanding of my
relationship with God as my father. He Provides for every conceivable need.
Hunger, fear, hurt etc.
6. Luke 15:12 The prodigal son
When he came to himself... He remembered where he came from. Note the
distinction between sons and servants. The relationship is not what you do as a
servant but your relationship with your Father as a son. Many Christians have
this story. Relying on servanthood instead of relation rights. Understand that
you have a Father. Christians should have a son mentality to be successful.
A son has access to inheritance but a servant has not.
7. Conclusion 2 Corinthians 3
Who is Jesus Christ? The Son of God. Jesus builds his Church on this Revelation.
We Christians are Epistles of Christ and our sufficiency is of God. What is the
difference between the old and the New Testament?
Living in the new Covenant is a change of heart. The Glory on Moses face was
fading and the veil was to cover the fade. Jesus glory is eternal and does not
fade as far as you carry Jesus.
There is there story of - The two donkeys. In a discussion one wondered why all
hailing has stopped. The other responds, you fool you were hailed because of who
you carried. Carry Jesus in your life to be applauded.
8. The Revelation of the New Testament
Jesus death led to the split of the veil. Your focus should now be on Jesus.
Remember God uses the foolish things of this world to show his Glory
Conforming to God word brings liberty because wherever the Spirit of the Lord is
there is liberty.
Allow the life of Jesus to manifest in your body. This is what the whole
creation is waiting for. Romans 8:22-23
You are a son not a servant
