The Household of God Ephesians 2:19

How did they - The Jews- miss their day of visitation? 26-11-2017

Reading: Luke 19:41-44: They peace of Jerusalem is hid from the eyes of its inhabitants

1. Introduction
Reading: John 1:12, he came unto his own but his own received him not. But to them that received him, even to them that believed in his name he gave them the power to become the sons of God.
• It is clear that some missed the opportunity the God gave to the Jews. However God uses that to bring in the full complement of Gentiles. Romans 11:25-36
• A Jew however has a special favour from God. They are called by election. V28.

2. It is God who knows so don’t go on without Him
Nicodemus John 3:3-8; this man was missing the point though he was a great teacher in Israel.
• Correction he needed to be born again
• Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right into a man...
Whatever decision you take must be in agreement to the word and purpose of God.

3. Establish the appropriate priority, what is your priority? Matthew 6:33
What have you set your eyes upon?
Many have are their eyes on heaven a place. The kingdom is more.
The bible says seek ye first the kingdom of god and his righteousness.
Kingdom a place where one rules with a set of values, judgment and culture
Seek first means it is the first thing to do. Jesus said seek, meaning one has to look for it. It is not apparent. It is hidden ordinarily.

4. Have reverence and believe
Anyone who lacks reverence for the things of God can miss the mark.
Simon attempted to buy the Holy. Ghost in Acts by Peter rebuked him. Acts 8:18-19 the gifts of God are not commercial products.
• To the pure, all things are pure Romans 14:20, Titus 1:15
• Give God the opportunity to do good to you. The mindset you approach God with matters.
