The Household of God Ephesians 2:19

My Joy for the season He is Risen April 16, 2017
Reading: Matthew 27:64, 28:6-7

1. Introduction
Today many are celebrating the risen Christ. Because Jesus
• came as a man, brought us awareness of our predicament,
• Taught us, Gave us a solution, Gave himself for the solution
• Gave us proof with himself and shows us the result
The main reason for this was to show us that all is not lost. We rejoice because He has Risen.

2. Man will not be lost to God
Jesus showed us the God who created us loves us and can do all things for us.
From the beginning of creation no man has risen from the dead. People call it the land of no return
Why should it be thought a thing impossible to you that God should raise the dead? Acts 26:8.
Man's greatest fear was cessation of existence Hebrews 2:14-15.

3. But nothing shall be impossible with God Luke 1:37
The burning bush, Sarah bringing Isaac, Water from stone, etc
Procreation; Mary said how can these things be.
Lesson: Though we are limited to this world and its weaknesses, know that these limitations dissolve in the presence of God.

4. God exalts Himself, Jesus comes
Though God has shown by many examples that he has a better way many are still stuck in our old ways.
Man seems to prefer the old and weaker ways. Why?
That is all he knows. But that is why Jesus came to say there's more John 3:13, 31
To have it the way God wants requires the following
Non conformance Romans 12:1-2
Change of mind Philippians 2:5 Romans 8:5-6, Luke 1:16-17

5. Enjoy the resurrection
Lesson: All through the Bible God is trying to show us we have a better life with Him. Luke 13:34
Lesson: Jesus is proof positive that we have a better life in Christ; Jesus gave us hope for eternal life by example. Matthew 28:18
Lesson: To really rejoice in this season requires that you take on this new life. Ephesians 4:22, Colossians 3:9.

Prayer: Father, help me to enjoy my resurrection with Jesus.
