The Household of God Ephesians 2:19
You can do something about Sin
Sunday, March 05, 2017
Reading: Ephesians 5:8-14, Psalm 51:1-13 of David
1. Introduction
This is a prayer a cry unto God for deliverance. Paul gave the same cry in
Romans 7:24-25 who will deliver me from the body of this Death.
The cry of David is very familiar to many sincere men. It shows the desperation
of man to free himself from the problem of sin.
2. The only source of help
The first lesson here is that God is the only remover of Sin. Spot on. There is
no Salvation in any other Acts 4:12.
One does not only come to God for help.
One must understand what kind of help is required and what that help is to be
for and also why it is so important.
3. Be Sincere to yourself
Lord something is blocking me from even approaching you-sin. Help me out. Psalm
51:3. It is preventing me from my good life and benefits that only you the Lord
may give. Romans 7:19. Without you in my life I am lost and will not amount to
anything.
4. Don’t deceive yourself 1John 1:8
This Sin is actually making me do things that will make my access to you
impossible. Romans 7:14-16. Dear me, it is actually suffocating me from all
Righteousness.
5. The root of Sin and sins
Lord I see that this thing is dangerously engrained in me. Even from birth.
Psalm 51:5. In the face of all this you are right in your response to me. Psalm
51:4. Because Lord your desire is Righteousness engrained in me! Psalm 51:6.
What can I do?
6. The Lord is our rescue
I rejoice in you Lord. You are able to remove this from me. Romans 7:24-25 Even
though I do all this against you lord I look unto you. Only the lord will
cleanse me and I will be clean Psalm 51:7. Praise the Lord! Isaiah 1:18
7. Conclusion Matthew 11:28
Jesus will bring us this deliverance. Amen
Key Morale
God is able to save a Man from Sin. Amen.
