What the Holy Ghost brings to us. Sunday, November 05, 2017
Reading: Acts 1:8

1. Introduction
God has ensured that we receive the Holy Ghost for a definite purpose. What are these?

2. Receive God's Nature (born again)
Convicts one of his need of Christ and if that one believes upon Christ, the Holy Spirit imparts to that one the nature of God (John 1:12).

3. Firstly, by Christ He gives us God kind of life (Zoe)
Christ said, “I am come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
• Christ came to make it possible for man to actually receive the nature of God, Eternal Life (I John 5:11-13).
• The man who receives Christ receives this nature of God and actually becomes His child. The blessed, faithful Holy Spirit is the Mediator through whom this life is transmitted.

4. This life (Zoe) makes things possible
Christ said, “Except one be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. John 3:4-8
The New Birth is a hidden action, yet the greatest of all miracles.
• The New Creation
The Holy Spirit overshadows the one who believes on Christ and imparts to that one the life of God, and he becomes a New Creation in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17).
• John 1:13, “Who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, but of God.”
Note it is the Holy Spirit who convicts natural man of his need of Christ and then imparts the nature of God to his spirit when he accepts Christ.

5. He must be invited into your will
Then if the Holy Spirit is intelligently invited, he will indwell the one whom He has made a New Creation in Christ. The body of the child of God becomes His temple.

6. The Church is God's means (it is God on Earth)
In this Dispensation of the Holy Spirit, His home and place of abode is the body of Christ - the Church
Just as Christ’s physical body was the temple of God so is the Church, is the temple of the Holy Spirit during His ministry here.

Thank you father I am God's mouth hands and feet on earth. Help me live up to your expectations. Amen.
